What's the Future of Humanity?

Humanity could be extinct in the next few centuries. But if we navigate these risks, we could live for much longer again. If we were then one day able to take to the stars, the sun will burn up and explode in about eight billion years. And i think we just haven't fully grappled with that fact. We're obviously not a typical species. So what's the life span of humanity if we stay on earth? At least 500 million years,. probably close to a billion years before the sun's glowing luminosity sterilizes the earth.
