Being isolated in prison for safety reasons due to his past as a police officer, Sultan felt a constant hope of being released during his initial days. His transfer to another prison prompted efforts to conceal his identity. Visits from his wife and daughters showcased the emotional struggle his younger daughter faced when leaving after the visits.

Sultan Alam was the first Pakistani officer to join the traffic department of the Cleveland Police in the UK. He was harassed at work and complained to his senior officers about it. Then his coworkers showed up at his house to arrest him.
