Color vision area inferior to V1

There is a dedicated area for color vision just inferior of V1. Patients may lose hemichromatopsia due to a lesion in FARC or adjacent to V1. Knocking out V1 alone is challenging, often leading to partial vision loss with achromatopsia in remaining quadrants.
