The Myth of Expertise and Experience
Long-held beliefs about the correlation between expertise, experience, and performance are being challenged. Research suggests that additional years or decades of experience may not necessarily lead to improved performance. For example, psychotherapists with 20 years of experience may not necessarily have better patient outcomes compared to colleagues with much less experience. This challenges the traditional notion of seeking experts based on years of experience and extensive education.
