Currency Risk and VTSAX
When it comes to investing internationally, I have a different approach than most. While many include international investments in their portfolios, I believe there are three reasons not to. Firstly, there is added risk, specifically in terms of currency fluctuations and accounting standards. Secondly, there is added expense. Lastly, these risks are already covered if you invest in VTSAX, the total stock market index fund from Vanguard, which includes every publicly traded company in the US and benefits from the best accounting standards in the world.
