BackTable Vascular & Interventional

ADVICE

Femoral Approach for PAE

  • Use a 5 French, 10 centimeter sheath for femoral access.
  • Get above the bifurcation with a 4 French Sos catheter.
  • Select both internal iliac arteries using a uterine catheter, ideally before the bifurcation.
  • Perform angiography from the main internal iliac artery using a 30-degree ipsilateral oblique, sometimes steeper.
  • Map the anatomy to identify all vessels going into the gland.
