Looking at things from a psychological perspective misses the point when it comes to the radical fringes of Islam. Offense and self-esteem are not the motivating factors behind their actions. The idea that they are unable to control their emotions and resort to violence is both condescending and a misunderstanding. The question remains, what truly motivates them?
