Why People Are Really Bad at Reasoning
The argumentative theory of reason argues that the purpose of reasoning is to persuade not to think. People struggle in regular reasoning tasks where they don't have to make an argument. But if you have to reason to convince people actually get better at their reasoning, except for confirmation bias and desirability bias. And so I think my takeaway from that work was we can make people smarter at Reasoning.
