Known for being like America on steroids, Florida attracts many newcomers looking to improve their lives, with the majority being transplants from other states or countries. The state's appeal ranges from favorable weather to the lack of a state income tax. During the pandemic, Florida stood out for its loose lockdown policies compared to the rest of the United States.
