Learning about Humanity in the Church

Teaching in a church can be restrictive as certain assumptions about the audience are made, limiting the depth of material that can be covered. This results in valuable insights about human nature being left out. Some expressions of Christianity can lead to dehumanization by imposing restrictions on listening to secular music, asking questions, expressing anger, sitting with pain or disappointment, showing disagreement, or making Jesus appear in a negative light.
