Making Money

NOTE

The Relationship Between Capitalism and Democracy

The dynamic between capitalism and democracy is intricate and can be both complementary and conflicting. Capitalism tends to concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a few successful individuals, which can undermine the principle of political equality in a democratic system. While in a democracy, anyone can hold political office regardless of wealth, extreme wealth disparities created by capitalism can erode democratic values. The key premise is that in a democratic society, wealth should not equate to power; however, unfettered capitalism can jeopardize this principle and potentially dismantle democracy.
