Causes of Iraqi Revolution
The people of Iraq were living in poverty and neglect despite the country generating significant wealth, which was mainly going to American and British oil companies. The local government was indifferent to the plight of the citizens, who were facing high mortality rates and lacking basic social services. As conditions worsened, the Iraqis decided to stage a revolution in July 1958.
