The Nature of Intelligence and Machines
Intelligence is deeply connected to the essence of being alive, as it represents a unity that precedes difference and allows different parts of a thing to be intrinsically related. It is a way of being before a way of acting. The term 'artificial intelligence' focuses on intelligent behavior in machines, which is vastly different from genuine intelligence. Making something implies putting together parts, while begetting signifies passing on a pre-existing unity. When something is functionalized based on achievements, it becomes replaceable; however, true intelligence goes beyond mere function and cannot be substituted.
