Act Now or Face Irreversible Consequences

To limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius and avoid tipping points, adherence to the global carbon budget is essential. Currently, there is only a remaining allowance of 200 billion tons of carbon dioxide, which allows for a 50 percent chance of staying within this limit. Given the current emission rate of 40 billion tons per year, we effectively have only five years before we exhaust our budget. Immediate and decisive action is crucial to navigate toward a safe environmental future.
