Could Trump-Curious Black Voters Swing the Election? (Ep. 3)

Pod Save America

NOTE

Understanding Black Voter Segments

Black voters can be clustered into key segments: the older black civil rights voter, the next gen optimist, and the rightful Senate group. While the civil rights voter is the most likely Democrat in the over-50 age group, the next gen optimist and rightful Senate group under 50 have different political attitudes. The next gen optimists miss elections due to lack of awareness, while the rightful Senate group abstains due to disillusionment with the political system and institutions. The latter, known as 'double haters,' are more likely to swing across partisan lines in elections, posing a challenge that needs resolution.
