NOTE

Mo Austin's Influence and the Making of Tom Petty's Wildflowers

Tom Petty trusted Mo Austin, the producer and people at the label who had great taste in music. Mo was responsible for introducing Tom to others, including George Harrison and Paul Simon. With their guidance, Tom created the album 'Wild Flowers' and focused on making it a cohesive body of work rather than just chasing a hit. Although it was difficult to narrow down the songs, they managed to select the best 15 tracks for the album. One notable song that didn't make the cut was 'California'. However, the album begins or ends with the quintessential Tom Petty song 'Something Could Happen', which showcases his vulnerable and heartfelt performance.
