If you compare the number of people who are working even from the year 2000 to the year 2020 across all shares, but especially across men, compared to how much they used to work, it's down at every single level. Up to 2020, the only shares of the population that were working more than they were in 2000 were people over 55 years old. It was to the point where close to half of men between the ages of 16 and 24 were not currently employed, which strikes me as crazy.
