The Sweet Spot for Napping

Napping is an effective way to overcome afternoon slumps, and there is a right and wrong way to nap according to research. The ideal nap is exceptionally short, between 10 and 20 minutes. Napping for less than 10 minutes provides minimal benefit, while napping for longer than 20 minutes can result in grogginess. Napping within the 10 to 20 minute range can boost mood and mental acuity without the downside of grogginess.
