NOTE

Being vs. Doing

Well-being consists of two interconnected concepts: 'will' and 'being.' 'Will' relates to an inner feeling of peace, self-acceptance, and control, independent of external circumstances. This realization fosters kindness towards oneself and a genuine appreciation of life, despite inevitable mistakes. In contrast, 'being' is an often-overlooked state characterized by doing things for their own sake, not for recognition or societal validation. The societal pressure to constantly perform and achieve can obscure the value of simply existing and connecting with what matters personally. Embracing 'being' requires effort, especially in a culture that prioritizes productivity and accomplishments. It's essential to recognize the superficial nature of external validation, such as fame or financial success, and to focus on personal fulfillment and self-definition. True well-being emerges when one emerges from the pressures of societal expectations and finds clarity and purpose aligned with one's soul, especially during times of crisis that often reveal deeper insights into life and appreciation for daily experiences.
