A study found that AI generated white faces are often perceived as more human than real faces, highlighting the phenomenon of AI hyperrealism. The researchers developed a machine learning system that can accurately distinguish between real and AI generated faces with 94% accuracy. These findings are not surprising, as similar studies have been conducted in the past. However, it is intriguing that 66% of AI images were rated as human compared to only 51% of real images, suggesting a discrepancy in accuracy. Overall, this study sheds light on the psychological impact of AI hyperrealism.
