Public belief in the market may decline, yet a growing discontent towards government can be anticipated. The perception of government as overly large, intrusive, and controlling has spurred a reaction to diminish its size and influence. This sentiment is rooted in the historical efforts of neoliberal thinkers, who, supported by wealthy benefactors, aimed to undermine government authority and promote free-market capitalism.
