i consider it morally and intellectually obscene to have to take note of our skin color as a preface to this conversation. i don't know if that's i'm sure you can more or less sign on to that. There is certainly some residual racism and bigotry left to expunge. And there is nothing that you and i will say thit should suggest an unawareness, much less a denial, of these facts. It seems to me that one of the great disappointments of what i describe as the re racialization of the public square,. One of thegreat disappointments about it is that you even have to talk about yourself in terms of skin colour.
