Empowerment and Trust in Manager-Employee Relationships
The key to feeling empowered as an individual in a work environment is the personal relationship between the manager and the report. It's important for the manager to explain what is needed for success and to provide visibility into the business unit for effective communication with investors and decision-making. This transparency and understanding of the 'why' separates a micromanager, who wants to control decisions independent of context, from a collaborative manager who trusts their team to make good decisions.
