The Strong Women Podcast

NOTE

Tony and the Jehovah's Witness Church

Back in the days, people valued hard work and were determined to earn things rather than expect handouts. The narrator remembers a lady who refused to take money and insisted on earning it by doing dishes. Working for what you have brings stability and integrity. Even in school, children would work in the cafeteria to pay for their own lunches. The narrator's mother would repair clothing for a poor lady who visited once a year. The narrator's husband, who she met as a child, converted to Jehovah's Witness after marrying her. It's easy to convert Christians because they often lack basic knowledge of their faith. However, living a Christian life is important. Overall, people used to value hard work and earning things.
