NOTE

The Importance of Strength for Longevity

Strength has a significant association with longevity, far more than smoking, type two diabetes, or hypertension. Being weak versus strong has a 250% increase in mortality risk, while low cardio respiratory fitness correlates with a 400% increase. The key factors for longevity are incredible cardio respiratory fitness, strength, and muscle mass. Muscle mass is closely linked to strength, highlighting the importance of strength even for those uninterested in powerlifting. Research consistently shows the importance of strength through metrics like grip strength, bench press, and leg extension in promoting longevity.
