The Impact of AI on the Writing Process

The task of writing has been decomposed into three parts: the prompt, the actual writing, and the sign off. The important part is the prompt and the sign off, not the writing itself. AI has the potential to allow more people to participate in written activity, improving everyday communication. While some fear AI, others see it as a solution for those not great at writing. However, the concern is that AI may become so good at imitating or predicting based on existing knowledge that people won't be able to tell the difference. If most of our writing is produced by AI and used to train more AI, our media will become increasingly AI-generated.
