Chamatch Predicts a Decline of Google in 2023

Chamath believes that Google search could be the biggest potential business loser in terms of profitability and engagement. He predicts a decline in the quality of Google search due to the emergence of other organizations capable of crawling the entire web. He believes that with enough time and money, Oracle, Microsoft, Google, the Chinese internet companies, and Facebook can all compete and converge on the same training, leading to the same inference. Consequently, consumers will become confused and able to get high-quality search results from many places, not just Google. Chamath predicts that Google could lose 10 to 15% of usage to other sites, which would have a material measurable impact on Google.
