The Differentiation of Evil from Tragedy

Tragedy is differentiated from evil by its lack of necessity and its voluntarism. Modern materialistic thought attributes human misbehavior to social or material causes, but this theory is lacking. Human cultures without material luxury can still be highly functional and moral. Evil is more pernicious than social inequality. It is a form of a demonically warped aesthetic.
