The Illusion of Choice

The concept of preserving choice is flawed because our choices are influenced by things we can't detect. Political debates about consumer choices, like gas stoves, are really proxy fights about abstract cultural values. The idea that we must protect the concept of choice seems silly and at odds with the basic thesis.
