The flow of capital in Emerging Markets (EM) has shown a disconnect with asset pricing due to backward-looking behavior of investors. Despite improving conditions, assets remain undervalued or overpriced. Individual country ETFs have not been a dominant flow into these markets. The US market has seen high concentration in top stocks, leading to challenges for global beta investing. Assets favored in disinflationary periods are overvalued. Meanwhile, undervalued assets with reduced capital flows present opportunities for real returns, as economies and fundamentals adjust.
