Failing Immigration Laws and the Chaos at the Border

The failure of federal government to create immigration laws that are intended to be followed by most people leads to a huge number of people violating immigration laws at the border. The main goal of the Immigration and Nationality Act is to primarily keep people out of the country, which is now leading to chaos and disorder at the border. This chaos and disorder, along with the illegality, have negative impacts on the country and result in a misallocation of law enforcement resources. The current situation has led to immigration becoming the number one law enforcement priority at both state and federal levels, diverting resources from dealing with property and violent crimes. The solution proposed is to have a legal immigration system that provides a realistic opportunity for people to immigrate, which is currently denied to them.
