**What made Jesus different from other miracle workers? **
The traveling miracle worker, the traveling exorcist was a job. It was actually a profession and a pretty well paid profession. An exorcist did not do his job for free. Except Jesus. The sick would come to Jesus because he wasn't charging for it. That's what was so radical about his movement. And that's why the gospels present him as being inundated with the poor. They come out of wood, the woodwork looking for healings. Not because they're sick. It's because they're poor.
