Love is often perceived as transactional, leading to the concepts of conditional and unconditional love. The expectation of unconditional love stems from transactional relationships, creating a cothexis. There is ambiguity in defining love, as men receive love while women give love. Love is mutual participation rather than one person being the source or object of love.
