Reaching disengaged individuals requires engaging their social circles, as they often do not follow political media. Creating advocates among the uninterested can foster a sense of agency, shifting responsibility from traditional media consumers to a broader community. Current societal dysfunction is illustrated by low public trust in institutions, with only about 21% content with the country's direction and faith in government branches hovering around 15-20% or even lower for Congress. This erosion of trust is attributed to a systematic undermining of these institutions, particularly by political entities that benefit from portraying government inefficacy to justify reducing its size and influence.
