Mad Max's Character and Psychological State

Mad Max's character is not about withstanding punishment and staying cool under pressure, but rather about his descent into insanity and the psychological toll of his experiences. He has lost all his human tethers and is way past a complete psychological break with reality. His loneliness and lack of emotional relationships with other characters reflect the extent of his broken state. Even the potential for emotional connections with other characters, such as the feral child, never materializes, showing the depth of his psychological detachment and inability to form meaningful connections.
