NOTE

The Pull Through Technique for G-Tube Placement

The Pull Through Technique for G-Tube placement utilizes an endoscopic method to navigate a wire from the stomach up the esophagus and out through the mouth. This technique replaces certain steps typical of percutaneous placement. Once the wire is out of the mouth, a loop snare is used, which is then attached to a hard plastic cone functioning as a dilator with a mushroom tip. As the operator pulls from the stomach, someone assists by feeding the assembly through the mouth, allowing the dilator to emerge through the skin. After cutting off the dilator, the bumper and adapter are added to complete the G-Tube placement.
