Environmental toxins from conception through adulthood have been a concern since Rachel Carson's 'Silent Spring' in 1962, highlighting the exposure from birth. The exposure has worsened over time, with infants being highly susceptible to toxins present in human cord blood and breast milk, even those banned for decades. Some chemicals in the body have a long half-life, making them challenging to eliminate. Supporting infants' exposome primarily relies on their microbiome, with certain probiotic strains aiding in the excretion of toxins. While toxins like parabens and phthalates can be excreted quickly through urine by reducing exposure, 'forever chemicals' such as PFAS have limited excretion methods, requiring further research.
