Trust the Transition, Not the Complete Solution
Transitioning from traditional Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) to using cloud-based solutions for enterprise PKI certificates involves setting realistic expectations. While the new mechanisms, such as those offered by Microsoft Intune, simplify authentication and certificate deployment, they do not fully replace the functions of ADCS. Organizations migrating from on-premises ADCS may still need to manage hybrid environments with on-premises servers, including the Intune connector, to deploy certificates effectively. Users should be aware that while cloud solutions streamline processes, they come with their own limitations and dependencies on existing infrastructure.
