Rhythm synchronization and the Millennium Bridge incident

Pedestrians walking across the Millennium Bridge in 2001 unintentionally synchronized their steps with the bridge's sway, leading to discomfort. The engineers had underestimated the side-to-side motion that caused the synchronization. Similarly, nerve cells can synchronize their action potentials under certain circumstances. This synchronization can be used as a computational feature in evolving brains.
