iMessage moat signals that Apple has been lazy

Apple has been lazy in not solving the problem of iMessage interoperability with other platforms for a long time. Instead of addressing this issue, they are now adhering to the terms set by the European Union and a 16-year-old kid who reverse engineered the protocol in his spare time. Going after the 16-year-old for this exposes Apple as the 'bad guy'.
