Competitive sports and activities that enhance performance as an adult were discussed with a focus on the biases and caveats associated with hiring based on performance. The measurement of performance in L2 involved 360 reviews and subjective judgment, but objective performance data was difficult to obtain. The advantage of coming from an elite school was also explored, highlighting biases in judging candidates and the acquisition of sophisticated influence tactics.
