Unlike Patton, who saw the Russians as enemies, Eisenhower was more diplomatic. Both types of leaders are necessary in the military. The generals are straightforward, focused on the enemy. Eisenhower was a strategic thinker. While he excelled in running the army, he admitted he would be terrible in a political role like governor or mayor.
