The Solomon Paradox: Giving Better Advice Than Following
The Solomon paradox refers to the phenomenon where individuals give better advice to others than they follow themselves. This paradox is based on the example of King Solomon, known for his wisdom yet struggling in his personal life. Research has shown that when individuals are presented with stats from their own life in a whitewashed manner, they provide better advice about what the person should do than what they actually do themselves. This suggests that people are inclined to provide better advice than they are to follow. As a result, individuals often feel they know what they should do, but struggle to follow through on their own advice.
