The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Values, Underdog Support, and Young American Perceptions

There is concern about the extremism and bigotry affecting the American values. The Israeli government's representation of ethnic cleansing is seen as a problem, as it goes against the values enshrined in the Declaration of Independence. Additionally, the US tends to support underdogs, such as in the case of Ukraine, and there is criticism of Israel's actions against the Palestinians. While Israel has a right to defend itself, the Palestinians are also perceived to have the right to self-governance and self-defense. Young Americans are particularly sympathetic to the Palestinians and critical of the disproportionate use of force by Israel, leading to a growing sentiment of the US supporting the underdog in this conflict.
