Different Colonies' Economic and Social Structures in the 18th Century

In the 18th century, the colonies in New England like Boston had its own institutions and urban culture, tied to Britain culturally, with influences of religion different from the South's. Virginia had estates and slavery, although slavery existed in the North too, albeit in different forms. The South heavily depended on enslaved labor for plantations, unlike the North. Different colonies had unique economic structures and trade relationships, with South Carolina closely resembling the Caribbean colonies. Not all British colonies rebelled during the American Revolution, with only 13 out of 26 colonies participating.
