Retaining vowels in German verbs

In German, when giving an order to answer, the letters before the ending 'and for' dictate that 'term' follows because the letter before 'and for' is a 'T,' leaving 'E.' This rule applies when the last letter before the ending is 'D,' 'T,' 'I-G,' 'M,' or 'N.' Irregular verbs in German do not include the Oumlaut, and in the case of driving, 'efest' becomes 'far' as the Oumlaut is omitted.
