The choices individuals make have natural consequences, where sin is likened to a sickness that always grows if not addressed. Small sins left unchecked can develop into significant issues over time. The severity of sin lies in the fact that it transforms individuals into something inhuman if left unaddressed. Therefore, the focus is on eradicating the sickness of sin rather than condemning the sinner. The balancing act in Christianity involves hating the sin while loving the humanity in each individual. It emphasizes the need for a nuanced approach to cleanse ourselves from the part that does not reflect the image of God. Despite the concept of justice demanding consequences for violations, God is portrayed as merciful, loving, and eager to facilitate eternal life for individuals. However, overcoming sin requires a supernatural intervention and the acknowledgment of a powerful adversary opposing individuals with evil and lies.
