Exploring Detachment in the Way of Jesus and Passive Spirituality

Detachment in the way of Jesus involves a deep inner posture of releasing life and being to God with trust, actively turning to God to allow God's presence and power to flow through our lives. Unlike Buddhist detachment from desire, in Christianity, desire for God's kingdom is the driving force. Detachment is about finding satisfaction in nothing, possessing nothing, and being nothing, while finding peace in God's unchanging nature. This detachment, or freedom to love, is fostered mostly through passive spirituality, developed through circumstances and suffering, rather than solely through active spiritual practices. Embracing both active and passive spirituality is crucial for spiritual progress in the Christian journey.
