Is It a Dichotomy?

Mary Helen: We need to teach kids loads of knowledge so that they can have really richly full long-term memories to draw on. She says it's easy to reach for cognitive science research that shows the kind of x plus y equals z in cases like, as you say, disciplines where things don't change very much. Mary Helen: It would be beneficial to them while we're taking them through specific examples to be helping them to see as efficiently as possible what are the organizing ideas that underpin all of that.
