The Value of Reading Beyond Grades and Scores

A teacher made me realize that reading is more than just a means to an end. It strengthens the mind, exposes us to new ideas, teaches persistence and discipline, expands vocabulary, improves interpersonal communication skills, and promotes non-violence. Reading also helps us become better listeners to ourselves and others.
